The H4n Pro Recorder from Zoom lets you track all your guitar parts, your basses, your keys, your vocals, and your drums, all thanks to the combination XLR-1/4″ inputs and the built-in stereo microphone. When you’re done with tracking, apply all the guitar and mixing effects you need, balance the levels, and bounce down to a stereo track.

If podcasting is your game, the H4n Pro is also a boon: simply take your favorite shogtun mic to the interview, and plug-it into the high-quality preamp. Flip on phantom power if need be, and you’ve got yourself everything you need to conduct a high-quality tape-sync in the field.

The H4n’s stereo X/Y microphone is capable of handling 140 dB SPL, making it suitable for tracking the loudest of instruments. If you’re tracking or practicing, you’ll appreciate the built-in metronome and the chromatic tuner.

The H4n Pro can record up to four simultaneous channels of audio at resolutions and sample rates higher than CD quality, capturing sound sources in WAV and MP3 formats. It utilizes an SDHC card for storage and a USB connection for transferring material to your computer. A pair of standard AA batteries powers the device and can provide up to 10 hours of continuous recording.
